What happens when someone scans it
The phone's camera recognises the code as a contact card and offers to add it to Contacts, with every field already filled in: no typing, no misspelt email addresses. It works with the built-in camera on iPhone and on Android phones, without an app.
Keep it small
Everything you enter is stored in the code itself, so each extra field makes the code denser and harder to scan when it's printed small. For a business card, name, phone, email and website are usually enough. Watch the version number under the preview: below about version 10, a code printed 2 cm (0.8 in) wide scans easily.
What's in the code
The code holds a vCard 3.0, the plain-text contact format that iPhone, Android, Outlook and Gmail all import. Commas, semicolons and line breaks in what you type are escaped automatically.

Questions
Can I change my details later?
Not in an existing code: the details are written into it. Make a new code when they change. That's also why it never expires and works offline.
Is my information stored?
No. The code is made by your browser, and nothing you type is sent to us or saved.
Can I add a photo?
Not usefully. A photo would make the code far too large to scan, so it's left out.
